Dear Gaila - Readathon Sibling Sign Up

Dear Gaila,

Both of my elementary school children are looking forward to the Readathon. They had their books to read all ready, and started reading right away on Monday! However, I've only gotten around to registering them up last night. The first kid was simple. However, I had trouble signing up the second one. How can I register two kids?

Readathon Parent

Dear Readathon Parent,

We are excited to have our first online Readathon! Understandably, there are still a lot of bugs and mistakes on our new site. If you find any mistakes - contact us so we can fix it. However, we still believe that you will find the new site to actually be a lot easier than writing down all the books on paper and having to hand it in manually (especially since those forms seem to turn invisible a week before the end of the Readathon). Registration this year is a little different. I'll walk you through it:

Click on the Register button on the top ribbon. Fill out the details for your first child:

Note that the email address will be your child's username. You will use it to login to this child's account. Your child doesn't have an email address? Not surprising - use your email address and have your child login through your email address. Of course, there is no need to actually sign in to your email address when you go into your child's account. Parent email can be the same as the email address.

But what about your second child? You won't be able to register the your second one under the same email address (because it is their account username it wouldn't make sense). Use a different email address for the sibling - it can be another email you have, your spouse's email address or even a simple account you opened just for this.

There is no problem writing the same parent's email address for both children. Don't forget to click the "I speak English at home" box!

Don't forget to pay the registration fee!
