Dear Gaila,
I am excited for my daughter who will be entering the Readathon this year. However, she has already read practically all the books in our house! How can I find her enough books on her level?
Mother of a Bookworm
Dear Bookworm Mother,
What a familiar predicament! I've raised a few bookworms myself. First try checking out your local library. They almost always have some English books as well. Your school might have an English library too (particularly if they were a winning school in previous A.H.A.V.A. readathons). A.H.A.V.A. has an extensive and well stocked library in Mitzpe Yericho. Ask your child's A.H.A.V.A. teacher to bring books for your daughter, or call me (02-535-6532) to set up a time to get books from the Vicky Fickler Memorial library. You could try borrowing books from English speaking neighbors. You never know what treasures they might have!
Another option in this day and age is online books. We have compiled a list of free online books, but you could just google it yourself and see what you can find!
Happy Reading!
